Woeful article about Charlie Veitch in The Mill

Remember the suck-up Sacha Lord profile they published last year? Well, they've done the exact same thing with Manchester's other leading parasite, the one and only Charlie Veitch.

They've left out a ton key facts (see below) and tried/failed to "show both sides", resulting in a puff piece for this hateful character that pays lip service to criticism but never tackles the real reasons why people despise this toxic figure. It ends up feeding his monstrous ego and skirts the main reason Veitch and people like him are such a scourge on the city.

Why no mention of the following?

The assault allegations from his ex-partner

The readily available evidence of his apparent attraction to underage girls

Hell, even the video where he hurls abuse at a family waiting by an ambulance with their dying grandparent inside

These are all vital elements of the Charlie Veitch narrative, and The Mill has scurried away from them, terrified, for some bizarre reason.

Instead they've spun it like he's a transformed figure with a willingness to learn who only fights against masked-up hoodlums. It's shameful journalism, yet again. The Mill doesn't get the right to pitch itself as the voice of alternative journalism in the city when it's publishing pitiful articles about vile figures like this.

Read between the lines, and it's a clear-cut case of a weak-minded writer being wowed by the cult of personality. Despite his rancid behaviour, Veitch is a bombastic, loud, charismatic figure, and this so-called 'journalist' got caught up in it, hook, line and sinker.

If anyone from The Mill is reading, and you most certainly are, train your * writers to stop being so easily swayed by big personalities. Podcasters aren't journalists, they're too afraid to go for the jugular and have little concept of journalistic integrity. It's embarrassing and damaging to the city, especially as you're trying to make out you give voice to the unheard and downtrodden. Veith is very much heard and very much not downtrodden, so why publish this largely fawning article about him?

This is not journalism. It reads like some greasy 'content creator' looking for his next collab. Piss poor from The Mill. They can't make out they're a viable alternative to the mainstream press when they're publishing junk that's no better than a paid-for Instagram post.
