The official UK 9/11 Truth campaign - status report

Post by TonyGosling »

The campaign was reorganised into a 'committee of four' back in July 2008 here at the Bristol AGM with a new 'official' national website being launched back in late December 2008.

But there appears to have been some 'mision creep' with new people being invited to these small national meetings and little or no knowledge amongst wider campaigners about what policies or decisions are made there.

We now have the situation where one of the four committee members, Annie Machon, is leaving the country and another, Ian Neal, appears to have largely withdrawn from campaigning.

IMO the main problem has been the scarcity of email communications since last Autumn. Before then there was an open list of hundreds of addresses ccd around which everyone used. This issue should be addressed soon when the national email list starts up.

This email list is unlikely to be as open as in previous incarnations due to only certain people, being allowed to post to the list. And certain people will be appointed as moderators.

Why are you waiting for someone to tell you what to do?

You have lungs. Spread the word. Stop complaining about how other people do things and get on with doing what you see fit yourself.

Several of the links and gizmos on the official UK 'Reinvestigate 911' site simply do not work. I do hope somethings's being done about them behind the scenes.

Cheers for the remonstration, Stefan
However the Reinvestigate 9/11 site does seem extremely small and generally inactive.
Ian H has an occasional blog going but there's not much more than that
Nothing much to draw people in and get a concerted movement going
The whole thing is so huge and dissipated as we are discovering, I think we are going to have to get between and behind the average sheeple folk who finally get their deprivation waved in their faces and their bellies

I thought Annie Machon and Ian Henshall came across brilliantly there and really put the message across. I'm sure that would have aroused a lot more interest about the truth... what an odius, shifty little b@stard Nick Pope is.. is that the best they can come up with?

I think the issue of the direction of the new initiatives is being slightly muddied here. We had a national campaign for about 2 years, which achieved some great things like MSM coverage, national events, speaking tours across the country, good local media exposure, and over 30 regional groups established.

However, that began to disintegrate in 2008 because of differences of opinion about how the issue should be approached: some wanted to focus on the theories around what might have happened, some wanted the bigger picture. Others wanted a more strategic campaign, some to focus on the forum, and yet others wanted to focus on street action. Different strokes for different folks.

9/11 author Ian Henshall proposed a small, politically-focused group. That is Reinvestigate 911, which he has been working on with some success. It was never envisaged as having a co-ordinating role for a national campaign.

Agreed

Reinvestigate is small and focussed. It pushes the case for a reinvestigation amongst politicians and journalists primarily. This is ONE strategy amongst many. It should not be seen as either as a rebranded 'national campaign' or 'official', since it makes no claims to speak on behalf of the wider movement in Britain and seeks no 'official' mandate.

As Annie says different strokes for different folks.

is there much of a point to campaigning in the uk for 9/11 truth? strikes me that its the american public that has been in the main the target of manipulation, though we all are a target of huge lies. i dont really see the gain no matter how many non americans are recruited to 9/11 truth. its the american system that has been hijacked and only the american nations sensibilities can effect serious reflection on issues like 9/11. americans generally speaking dont really care what anyone else thinks. so we could convert the whole nation (uk) and it wouldnt change a great deal.....obviously i couldbe wrong and hope i am.

9/11campaigning in UK

Post by Frazzel »

Campaigning on 9/11 IS relevant to the UK. Im surprised re: 'riddles".
Reasons its relevant:
1) Legal and moral reasons. 911 was the reason given to justify going to war with Afganistan and Iraq. Tony Blair didnt even consider an inquiry over the claims of Bush about the need to go to war. Remember it was said that Iraq had links with Al Qaeda, clearly a lie. Remember the Taliban said show us prooof about OBL's guilt and never got a reply. Even on the FBI website, OBL isnt wanted for 9/11!

2) Economic reasons. The war has and continues to cost the UK billions when we now have a recession with cuts to public services. Although of course, it was the bankers that created the recession, at least the cost of war is a good argument against the cuts propoganda.

3) 911 has been used to justify erosion of our civil liberites in the UK

4) Censorship. America has used 9/11 and the resulting war on terror, to try to censor and regulate the internet when it comes to information that they dont like. (see disco destroyer's post on that)

5) 911 is an extreme example of how Governments and intelligence services lie to the people, which our government went along with, and as such, needs to be exposed to get people to question what they are being told in general on any other topic such as the false claim of needing cuts to public services etc.

6) Accountability of intelligence services. Also dont forget that the intelligence agencies all penetrate each other throughout the world therefore one wonders what did MI6?MI5 know about the 911 plot before it happened? This shows a need for some accountability, oversight of the intelligence services by an independent body.
