FAKE Investigative Journalists? Meirion Jones, Iain Overton

Discussion about the July 7th 2005 bombings on London's public transport network. Underground CCTV security contract awarded to crooked (Kobi Alexander chair of their parent company is on the run) Israeli firm Verint Systems & their boss, IDF trained explosives expert Daniel Bodner. Crookedness, incompetance, misfescence and corruption at MI5, Scotland Yard 'Untouchables' and other parts of the Metropolitan Police which allowed 7/7 to happen and have contributed to the London Bombings not being investigated.

FAKE Investigative Journalists? Meirion Jones, Iain Overton

No 7/7 investigation needed - journalism chief Iain Overton

I've recently had an enlightening email correspondance with Iain Overton who describes himself as an investigative journalist. Editor-in-chief in fact of a prestigious new London organisation calling itself the Bureau Of Investigative Journalism.
Editor: Iain Overton
Iain is the Editor of the Bureau. Prior to this, he was a commissioning executive at ITN and a senior producer at the BBC.
His previous work includes investigations into the international trade in counterfeit pharmaceuticals, corporate killings in Iraq, human rights abuses by the Brazilian police and Glasgow gang-land murders linked to security contracts.
He has worked in over 85 countries around the world and his films have been awarded a Peabody Award, a OneWorld Award and a BAFTA Scotland, amongst others.

Yes, we need aggressive investigative journalism digging out the truth, attacking fascist tendencies in the intelligence world, lying think tanks such as Policy Exchange, Private Military Companies and big business.

But Iain Overton decided to turn on me. An out-of-work, struggling journalist who has put together some of the most damning evidence linking the Israeli military through corrupt Israeli based security firms Verint Systems and Comverse Technologies, and secret state to organised crime and the London Bombings of 2005. And had his analysis pinched by Nazi Apologist Nick Kollerstrom & published in 'Terror On The Tube' as if it was Nick's work.

According to Iain Overton is is 'absurd' and 'offensive' to so much as suggest that there was more to the 7/7 London Bombings that the four culprits who were announced by Sir Ian Blair as such at a press conference.
It troubles Iain Overton not one jot that due legal process has been subverted and that there has been no public enquiry into these attacks.
So, how did he become editor-in-chief of this well funded new Bureau? Does it have more in common under Iain Overton's editorial leadership with the crooked FBI than the finest traditions of British Investigative Journalism that brought us Death On The Rock and Secret Society?

I circulated to him and several other investigative journalists an email entitled "7/7 bombings, the wrong story? Time to investigate!" with links suggesting they might like to watch and consider Amina Taylor's Press TV fifth anniversary documentary about 7/7.

The Big Story - Fifth anniversary - 07Jul10 - Amina Taylor - Press TV Global News - (Part1)

He was the only one to reply with such an aggressive denial that there could be anything to investigate. And he the editor-in-chief of the newly formed London Bureau of Investigative Journalism. How strange.

Anyway here's whay he had to say to my polite but firm emails on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th August 2010:
So who are the people behind the 7/7 bombings if not "Asian blokes"?
Masons? MI6? Mossad?
I am worried that the entertaining of conspiracy theories does a disservice to the dignity of the dead. Aren't you?

Iain Overton
Dear Tony,

No journalist I know and trust would suggest anything but that Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Germaine Lindsay and Hasib Mir Hussain were responsible for the 7/7 bombings. I assume these were the 'Asian blokes' that you flippantly referred to. And I do believe that suggesting that they were not the killers is a disservice to those that they murdered.
Correcting you on that is a responsibility I feel I owe those dead.
I consider this conversation at an end unless you have something more informative to say than 'not everyone out there on the streets believes'.

Iain
Dear Tony

I have watched the documentary now. And I still stand by what I say.
Also saying things like 'self-respecting' journalist is effectively saying that I am not one. You are effectively accusing me of being closed minded. You don't know me from Adam, so please leave off the personal attacks.
You have no idea what I have done and what journalism I have undertaken in my career to address issues of racism and bigotry.
But I see how easy it is for you to verbally abuse those who don't stand with your views. Look in the mirror, my friend, look in the mirror.
I do approach things with an open mind. Then I make an informed stand on the position. You know my position and it has not changed. Bad things are done by bad people. But that never implies a whole nationality, creed or peoples are bad.
In future, please don't email me implying I am what I am not. It is both rude and unecessary.

Iain

Post by Frazzel »

hi tony, he seems to ignore the fact that many 7/7 survivors want a new independent enquiry and are not satisfied with the OCT. has he even bothered to read Nafeez Ahmeds book.
send me his email address and i will willingly send him a very reasoned and reasonable email myself.

Aiding and abetting, which includes withholding evidence, causing folly by steering people away from overwhelming evidence for the most likely participators and who were in on it then or the now cover up in this murder in society in true Law carries up to the same penalty as the penalty for murder. Even without those who actually set the explosives being found.

Thank you Andrew, very well put. I sometimes get a little dis-heartened to realize that this is the level we're at though.

These journalistic 'gatekeepers' such as Aaronovich, Rentoul, Monbiot etc. are absolutely in the frame here potentially covering up for treason, mass murder etc.

Iain Overton in hot water
But Lord McAlpine was set up as a Straw Man and looks like Iain & the BBC fell for it.
Abused children forgotten again

Role in making false accusations of child abuse
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iain_Overt ... hild_abuse
On 2 November 2012, Overton alleged on Twitter that a joint report by the Bureau and the BBC, to be broadcast on the BBC programme 'Newsnight', had unmasked a senior Conservative politician as a paedophile who had sexually abused children in the North Wales child abuse scandal. His Tweet read, "If all goes well, we've got a Newsnight out tonight about a very senior political figure who is a paedophile." [9]The Newsnight broadcast, made later that day, made such an allegation against an un-named politician, who was widely identified on the internet as the former Conservative Party Treasurer Lord McAlpine.[10] Lord McAlpine issued a statement strongly denying the accusations. [11]This allegation was subsequently admitted by the BBC to be false.[12]

The broadcasting of the false claim led to the resignation of George Entwistle as Director-General of the BBC on 10 November 2012.[13] Lord Patten, Chairman of the BBC Trust, described the report as “unacceptable shoddy journalism”.[14] Before his resignation, Entwistle announced that the BBC had suspended all investigations undertaken with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism. [15]

Overton withdrew his original Tweet but did not use his Twitter feed to apologise for it or to correct the false information it had contained. [16] He was severely criticised on Twitter by a number of other journalists for his conduct in this affair, including the former Newsnight editor Michael Crick and the Guardian columnist Deborah Orr.[17] Orr tweeted 'And @iainoverton, who did the "teaser tweet" about the #newsnight report is just carrying on as if nothing's happened.'[18]

New editor
Same old faux investigative journalistic guff!

Today I put in an interview request asking to help publicise their campaigns to Meirion Jones who's the new editor. Prompt reply.

No.
Your site combines good research like pointing out the Muhammad al-Rasheed connection in the Shamima Begum case with conspiracy nonsense like the Martin Bormann stuff. Neither myself nor the Bureau would want to appear in that context.
