LETSlink London 30 Jul 2017 13:00 30 Jul 2017 outsider
Sunday 30th July 2017: from 1pm: LETSlink London – http://www.letslinklondon.org.uk – welcomes members and visitors to a regular end of month gathering. Our aim is to welcome new members, encourage existing members to connect face-to-face, we also provide support to update their profile on the website. The aim of Londonwide LETS to facilitate mutual support via “links”. London has some independent LETS groups, but members and groups can all connect up via the Londonwide website: http://www.londonwide.letslink.org. To encourage members to attend, we host visiting speakers. Our theme for this meeting is Understanding the Deep State, and to explore this, we welcome Robin Upton of http://www.altruists.org, Peter Presland, founder of Wikispooks – http://www.wikispooks.org – and Robert Stuart who has been writing and speaking about the 2013 BBC Panorama documentary Saving Syria’s Children – see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wtt4LbWl84 and https://bbcpanoramasavingsyriaschildren.wordpress.com/2017/07/09/bbc-panorama-team-embedded-with-islamic-state-partner-group/. After the presentations and Q&A, we will use “OpenSpace” to encourage members to discuss topics both relating to the presentations and their own topics they might wish to bring to the meeting, in small groups, and to report back at a final session. We also hope to encourage performers, if time allows. Please feel free to bring any leaflets or items you wish to display, and food to share – there is a kitchen where we can prepare food and drinks. Our venue for this session is the Highgate Library Hall, Croftdown Road, London NW5 1HB, a short walk from Archway tube, and Highate Road, and on the C11 bus route – see map. Attendance by donation (to meet room hire costs (suggested amount £5). To view a flyer for this event go to: http://www.londonwide.letslink.org/members/uploads/ORG-event-170730.pdf. To book please go to: Eventbrite.
